Inclusive Kerb Rig Experiment

Edinburgh Napier University are recruiting volunteers as participants in their inclusive kerb rig experiment.
Peer Support Outreach Advisor - Aberdeen & Grampian Area

Working from home, you will be attending Outreach Clinics offering support to patients, their families and friends to help them come to terms of living with a spinal cord injury (SCI). This service would be within the NHS and support patients at discharge. This role would also be offering local support to our membership and organsing events to offer peer support.

Grant Funding Application

Spinal Injuries Scotland is committed to supporting our members to live as independent as they can. As part of our efforts, we are bringing back our Grant Funding Scheme for our members. The sums involved are never large and the fund is often exhausted, but we believe that if used effectively, they can make a huge difference.
Changes with Disability Benefits in Scotland from March '22

Disability Benefits are changing and will now be paid by Social Security Scotland. 21 March 2022 - Dundee City, Perth and Kinross, the Western Isles 20 June 2022 - Angus, North Lanarkshire, South Lanarkshire 25 July 2022 - Fife, Aberdeen City, Aberdeenshire, Moray, North Ayrshire, East Ayrshire, South Ayrshire 29 August 2022 - if you live elsewhere in Scotland.
Driving with an SCI

The freedom of a car is more of an essential than a luxury for most wheelchair users and walkers. We have partnered with Motorbility to offer a range of services to our members.
Will Writing Service

We have partnered with Cochran Dickie to offer a range of services to our members including the preparation of Powers of Attorney and Wills. Cochran Dickie continually provide a personal and direct service to both private and commercial clients for over 150 years.
Peer support

Peer support is at the heart of what we do. Drawing upon personal experience of the challenges of living with a spinal cord injury, the peer support volunteers are able to provide support to those in the spinal unit and also those in the community. The peer support team have a wealth of knowledge about living life after a spinal cord injury and each have different experiences they are happy to discuss.

Community and hospital visits

Spinal Injuries Scotland's Peer Support Volunteers (PSVs) are in the Queen Elizabeth National Spinal Injury Unit in Glasgow 5 days a week. Our Peer Support Team currently attend the outreach clinics and we have staff based all over Scotland.
Stay at Clober Farm

Clober Farm is a converted farmhouse which has been transformed into a fully accessible living accommodation and accessible garden with patio area and raised beds, designed with the wheelchair user in mind. Close to Loch Lomond and the Trossachs. Open all year.
Legal and welfare advice

Spinal Injuries Scotland provides a legal and welfare advice service. This is free for members of Spinal Injuries Scotland in partnership with Digby Brown Solicitors.

Spinal Injuries Scotland understands that it can be difficult for the family and friends of those who have sustained a spinal injury and we are for you too.
